According to Merriam-Webster, a warrior is one who is engaged or experienced in warfare. A true warrior has an enemy, and is at battle. He knows his enemy, and has a plan of attack. He pushes forward for the cause he is fighting for- even until the death. While this is a hard-core definition of the word and you might not feel like this describes you, but I’m here to tell you it does. You ARE a Warrior!
While our enemies are not wielding swords, shooting at us or dropping bombs on us, (thankfully), they are trying to stop us and our pursuits. They try to stop us from reaching our goals. But you ARE a warrior and you do not let your enemies stop you.
One of the most important tactics a true warrior uses in his fight is to know his enemy. Do you know your enemies? Is it the snooze button on your alarm clock? Is it the chocolate sitting in a candy dish on your counter? Is it the long list of things to do today that is haunting you? Is it a negative co-worker souring your mind and thoughts? Is it lack of communication or willingness to communicate with your co-workers, spouse/partner, children, and friends? Is it laziness, boredom, lack of focus, lack of desire….? On and on the list could go.
This brings me to an equally important tactic of a warrior. Not only do they know their enemies, they know WHAT/WHO they are fighting for. What are your purposes? What are your goals? What/who is important to you? You ARE a warrior- know what you are fighting for and always move forward.
After knowing your enemy and what your battles are, you can plan. Plan a method of attack. A “game plan”. When this happens, I will do this… Don’t be afraid to fail. The only time you truly fail is when you do nothing. Move forward. Persevere. Endure. Strength will develop.
Not only are YOU a Warrior at home and at work, you ARE a Warrior at TBBC! You resist the urge to hit the snooze button and get to your sessions. You get up extra early to get dinner set so you can catch a class after your busy day at work. You arrange your schedule so you can get those sessions in. You are taking steps to make healthy changes to your “diet”. You bring your loved ones in to TBBC to get them moving. You motivate your fellow warriors. You are all in battle together. You move forward. If you fall, you get back on track tomorrow. You attack- you ARE a warrior!
