One of our new clients is a great guy named Andrei. Andrei was referred by an existing client named Pete. Pete is in his early forties but has the body of a 25 year old athlete.
After his first ever Total Body Boot Camp experience, Andrei commented how tough the workout was but asked why Pete does it since he is in such good shape already. That seems like a valid question and I’m glad Andrei asked. I answered Andrei with the following analogy…
I told him about another client of mine who is a self-made millionaire. Through the years this person has lived frugally in certain areas. He didn’t always have the latest clothes or cars. What he has now as a result of his choices is well over a million dollars in net worth.
It would be very similar to me asking this person why doesn’t he have a brand new luxury car or a $5,000 watch since he has so much money. His habits of not buying everything he “wants” is precisely why he’s a millionaire. If he changes his habits now he could easily go back to being broke.
If Pete changes his habits now of challenging himself physically and even getting professional guidance, he can easily turn into the average forty year old man. Pete doesn’t want to be average. So he must continue with his good habits.
