You may not like what I’m about to say but I truly believe that reading this blog post and doing what it says can make a huge and positive impact on your life as it has for many of our Farmingdale Boot Camp clients.
I can’t promise you that the 7 day challenge will be super exciting and sexy. It may even at times be tedious and boring. That’s the thing. A lot of times successful people aren’t doing dramatically bigger things than everyone else. They’re just willing to do what unsuccessful people aren’t. For instance, the successful small business owner stays at work an hour late each week to review her budget while another unsuccessful one skips out on the financial stuff because it’s boring. On the outside they look pretty much the same.
The power of writing
I’m obsessed with writing things down. I keep a journal (to jot down my thoughts for the day as well as what I’m thankful for), a separate little book that contains everything I have to do, and now a habit journal. No, I haven’t gone off the deep end. I just understand the power of writing things down. In fact, one of my favorite quotes is, “What gets written gets done.” Check out the 7 Day Challenge our Farmingdale Boot Camp has for you…
The Challenge
Here is my challenge to you. Choose one area that if improved will have a great impact on your life. It could be diet habits, sleep habits, exercise habits, etc. Keep a pen and a small journal with you at all times for 7 days. Jot down everything you do that has to do with that area. For example, you may decide to jot down everything you put in your mouth (food and drink). I can guarantee this will create an awareness that you have never had before. You will find yourself cutting empty calories (that extra handful of chips) just so you won’t have to write it down. You have to trust me on this. If it worked for our Farmingdale Boot Camp clients, it should work for you.
It’s the little things
Keep in mind that it’s the little decisions we make (or don’t make) each day that create who we are. Drinking a glass of cold water instead of soda won’t show any significant changes after a day, a week, a month, or maybe even a few months. But, with consistency, after 1 year of making small changes like this, dramatic improvements can occur.
I “make no bones” about this
I know you would rather hear that you can lose 30 pounds in a week or a month. It’s just not true (at least healthfully). Someone has to tell you like it really is, not as you wish. I’ve been at this for a long time and have tried countless tools for fitness success. The infomercials that make promises that seem too good to be true are too good to be true. Our best success stories involve our Farmingdale Boot Camp clients being long-term minded.
Take my challenge
Don’t tell me you are serious about improving your health and then say that you aren’t willing to do the 7 day challenge. At least be honest about it.
Take the 7 day challenge and you may become hooked from the results. You may even become nuts about writing like me. Feel free to post below what habit you are focusing on, when you are starting (hopefully today), and any other comments.
