I’m excited to bring to you today lessons from 2017. Rather than you hearing it from me, I decided to ask some of our members at TBBC to share some of the most valuable lessons they learned throughout the year. I urge you to read though them carefully. Let me know which one resonates with you most and most importantly what you can take ACTION on. Let’s get right to it!
“I learned that going to the gym 2-3 days a week really makes a difference and I am happier due to this thank you TBBC.” – Marisa P.
“I think I learned that taking care of myself is very very important… that my everyday life is easier when I exercise.” – Baily M.
“Making my health and happiness a priority… it’s easy to make excuses and get caught up in doing everything for everyone else… but, I can’t be the best mom, wife and friend that I want to be if I don’t take care of myself too. I never walk out of TBBC regretting it.” – Jessica G.
“What I learned is the slow and steady wins the race- we all want quick fixes but in reality- I was most successful with a long term plan. It’s also ok to have setbacks- just try and get back to the plan ASAP.” – Gisela G.
“I learned sometimes other obligations/chores can wait and take a back burner to my fitness class priority.” – Jackie K.
“I honestly am learning to believe in myself and create a positive inner voice. Whether it’s as a mom ( the mom guilt and self doubt lurks in) or trying push-ups, or losing weight – my biggest enemy is the negative talk that happens in my mind and I’m slowly learning to replace that self talk with thoughts of I can.” – Tracie R.
“I have learned to schedule my gym appointments ahead so they are a priority and I try to do a no excuses approach.” – Judy S.
“I have said this before…being grateful for everything in my life makes me HAPPY. Hard to explain but gives me a sense of contentment.” – Maureen C.
“I have learned that I have more control over my health than I thought I did. I also learned that there are no quick fixes- life style changes and long term goals are better and more realistic.” – Carol H.
“I’ve learned that it’s important to take time and make health important. I’m constantly running and doing for my children but it is also important to do something for myself.” – Nancy H.
“I have learned that in addition to working out 3x a week I need to eat a ketogenic diet, I am insulin resistant and this way of eating has kept me from becoming diabetic with no meds.” – Lisa M.
“Thanking the direction I’ve been getting from all the instructors at TBBC. Making the right food choices, staying focused setting goals and holding myself accountable. Blessed to have this opportunity and give thanks for all the encouragement I’ve gotten.” – John L.
“I’ve learned that there’s always opportunity for redemption and the first person you need to forgive is yourself.” – Melissa F.
“I’ve learned the importance of positive energy in all situations. In addition I learned balance in all facets of my life is instrumental in keeping my mind, body and spirit in check. Working out, daily reflection and meditation has proven to be a great resource in this journey.” – Sonji C.
“I am learning that in life and fitness. ASK FOR HELP! I always thought I could “Do it alone”. I’d be the first to help others, but never asked for help. I thought this philosophy showed my strength and independence. But it just proved my stubborness , pride, and inability to let others in. I can’t figure out and follow a strength program without help. I reached out ..and thanks to the team at TBBC…am reaching my goals. Now on to asking for help in other things!” – Dawn C.
“I’ve learned that I can’t go on this journey alone. Having the support and those I’m accountable to leads to higher success rate. From the gym support give by the trainers to the support given by my fellow trainees has empowered me. I also learned and continuing to learn how to make better choices with meal selections in this lifestyle change.” – Tawana R.
“I’ve learned that life throws you many ups and downs during the course of a year as I have witnessed and experienced this year but the people from TBBC are always checking up on you and watching out for your best interests. They have helped me be more consistent this year than I have ever been and learned that every moment is a fresh start and not to get down on yourself just show up and the rest will take care of itself. I am thankful for all the encouragement I’ve received and to never give up.” – Al H.
As you can see these are phenomenal tips and many are articulated way better than I could have.
