I’ve received some awesome questions related to Boot Camp recently that I have a feeling may help you out also…Here we go with the first one.
Sharon: Not sure if this is part of the plan, but How do I go about figuring out the right foods to eat? I am a huge snacker, which is prob my hardest thing to stop! I really dont know the amount of food or what combo I should be eatting. Can you give me suggestions? I have some restrictions-Im allergic to shellfish/fish. And I avoid peanuts/treenuts as my daughter is highly allergic/anaphylactic to them.
Thanks in advance. Have a great weekend.
Me: Hey Sharon. I apologize again for the delay. I can talk to you more in person but I believe it is a mistake to count calories. Food should be used to fuel our body but it should also be enjoyed. Counting all of your macronutrients takes the enjoyment away…
I recommend eating something every few hours to keep your metabolism going strong and to prevent overeating at any 1 meal.
As I’m sitting here typing I have some hummus with whole wheat crackers (carrots would be better), some nuts (I know your allergic to some), fruit (apples and tangerines), and some whole wheat organic pasta with low fat meat and a salad….
Again, we can chat more in person about some ideas that may work for you.
Check out this short blog too which has some great and easy to implement tips.
Hope this helps!
Billy
*Sharon’s response was awesome and really put things into perspective…
Sharon: No prob. So pretty much it’s not rocket science or an easy fix. Basically do what I know I should do, breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner-snack.
Make healthier choices, add some fruits, veggies. I’ll ck out the blog for more ideas. Thanks
